HELLO! (AWE my photo is so cute, hehe)
Okay. There is much to say so let's get to it.
My name is Adele, I am the owner of EMC Photography Studio.
(The end)
Just kidding! I couldn't leave you hanging, now could I.
Shall we start again?
My name is Adele, I bleed, sweat & breathe photography. Well, to be honest, that is how I feel. I have been snapping photos as long as I can remember. My grandfather loved photography and so did my mother. I can't tell you how many photo albums I am in over they years before digital.
When I was in High School I always had my camera. No, I wasn't in Yearbook club or Photography club. I never really was one to volunteer my talents. If that was the case I could have been a professional jump-ropper...
wait? Is that a thing?
I had the talent to not only take great photos but to develop film. Fun Fact: I taught myself. (Young people are probably asking - "Did you learn from Youtube?") NO! There were these Awesome things called Books & they were Great.. (Yes, I am an early 80s baby) I have seen the world of photography change in front of my eyes. And to be honest I love it!
Throughout the changes from Film to Digital, I stuck with my photography. I took classes at my local college; took extra classes for photoshop when I enrolled in Business School & couldn't stop. I have 4 degrees in Business Management & 8 Certificates in Photography. *No such thing as overkill*
I knew I wanted to take that leap in 2011. I went out, got myself a Business License, Insurance, etc. and was ready to conquer the world...or at least in my small town. EMC Photography Studio was Born!
Friends, Family, Friends of Friends were asking me to take their photos more and more so I thought. "I can do this" I knew there would be challenges. But, I also knew how strong, after all, I was working 2 jobs & finished college while all being a single mother.
Let's Fast Forward to the good part ... Shall we.
*Forwarding movie sound*
September 2014 I knew I could do Photography full-time now. My income was overlapping my current job and to be completely honest I hated it. I hated not having time to pay bills during business hours & most of all I was tired of not having time for my family. I was ready to be my own boss.
I was doing great -*But, something was still missing in my life* I just didn't know what.
December 2014, I met my soulmate, now the love of my life, the one I had been waiting for all these years. (That's him, in the photo with me *He's so handsome*) We are a team. He supports my business and I support his. I can FINALLY say, "My life couldn't be more perfect".
July 2015 we all moved to Yuma, AZ, business and everything. A MAJOR culture shock from my California lifestyle. I really got tired of hearing; "well here in Arizona we do it like this" or "You're in Arizona now". My California blood was not happy with this change and neither was my business.
Starting over in a new place where you were not born and raised is difficult for a new business. Starting from the bottom is NEVER anyone's 'idea' of fun.
HOWEVER!!! With again blood, sweat, some tears & most of all support & determination
I AM ON TOP OF THE WORLD!
I have the best support system anyone could ever ask for - My Family!
Coming soon... I will be getting my very own studio November 1st (just a few days away) and I will be making my way to the next stage in my business.
Ending this introduction blog I would like to say THANK YOU!
Thank you to everyone who has helped me up to this point. Thank you for being there for me and helping me when I was about to give up.
So I'll leave you with this...
"Life is like a horse, It is beautiful, majestic & almost magic. It is also fierce, unpredictable & can stomp on everything you have built. The question and answer is; "How to tame it?!?"
This blog will be a sneak peak inside the eyes of a photography business. From tips to ideas, from locations to equipment. I'll explain it all.
Thanks for reading.
